Low Fat Alfredo Sauce - A Light Recipe

Ingredients
3 tablespoon of low fat margarine
¼ cup all purpose flour
2 and half cup of non fat milk
¼ cup low fat parmesan cheese
2 cloves of garlic chopped
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
Salt to taste
¼ teaspoon of crushed nutmeg
Directions
1. First of all take a pan and melt the margarine in it.
2. Now add garlic and fry until it turns lightly golden.
3. Add flour and cook the mixture for about one minute, stir in occasionally.
4. Add milk and cook bring it to a boil. Cook until it thickens while stirring.
5. Add cheese, black pepper, red pepper, nutmeg and salt. Let it cook for another one or two minutes.
Tips
1. If you mix the flour with a little milk before adding to the margarine there won’t be lumps.
2. After adding flour and milk, keep on stirring otherwise the sauce will stick to the utensil.
3. You can use this low fat Alfredo sauce in most Alfredo dishes, for example the salmon Alfredo sauce or spinach with Alfredo sauce.
